KOSH Points: How the Points System Works

How you earn KOSH Points, what they're worth, and what happens when your account closes. Redemption is coming soon.

Plain English answers to the KOSH Loyalty Terms and Conditions. Where the two differ, the Terms and Conditions apply.

Overview

KOSH Points reward you for spending on your card. Every eligible purchase earns points, which you'll be able to redeem for benefits in the app. Points are available to individual (personal) KOSH accounts only. Business accounts do not currently earn points.

Earning

How do I earn points?

Spend with your KOSH card. Every $1 of eligible spend earns at least 1 point.

Do some categories earn more?

Yes. Selected categories and merchants earn at a higher rate, called a multiplier. You can see which categories currently qualify, and the rate for each, in the app.

Can those categories and rates change?

Yes. KOSH can add, remove, or change categories, merchants, and multipliers at any time. The rate shown in the app when you make a transaction is the rate that applies to it.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Points are on by default for every eligible KOSH cardholder with an open account in good standing.

Is there a limit on how much I can earn?

Multipliers apply up to a monthly spend limit, shared across all categories combined. Past that limit you keep earning, but at the base rate, until the next calendar month starts. The current limit is shown in the app.

Why did my spend earn less than I expected?

Either you have passed the monthly limit for multipliers, or the merchant was classified in a different category than you expected. Categories come from the merchant classification the card network sends us.

Value & redemption

What is a point worth?

100 points = $1. So one point is one cent.

Can I redeem points yet?

Not yet. Redemption is coming soon, and you'll be able to redeem points for gift cards in the app once it launches. We'll announce it in the app when it's ready.

Can I get cash instead?

No. Points have no cash value and cannot be withdrawn or transferred.

Balance & expiry

Do my points expire?

Standard points do not expire. They stay in your balance for as long as your account is open and in good standing.

Points from a particular campaign, promotion, or category may have their own expiry. Where that applies, you will see it in the app when those points are awarded.

Where can I see my balance?

In the KOSH app.

How soon do points appear after I spend?

Points are awarded once the transaction settles, so they may not appear immediately after payment.

What happens if I get a refund?

The points earned on that transaction are removed from your balance. If that takes you below zero, the shortfall comes out of points you earn later.

If you close your account

All points expire immediately when your account closes, however it closes. Expired points have no cash value, cannot be transferred to anyone else, and cannot be restored, including in a new account you open yourself. If you're thinking about closing your account, redeem first once redemption is available.
