Why was my business sign-up rejected for using a personal email?

Written by Rajani

Kosh requires all business accounts to be registered with a business email address — for example, [email protected]. Personal email domains are not accepted. This includes Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, iCloud, Protonmail, and other consumer email providers.

When you attempt to sign up with a personal domain, you will see the message: "Please use a business email address."

Why this is required

A business email address helps confirm that the account is associated with a legitimate company. It is also part of Kosh's regulatory requirements for business onboarding.

How to fix it

Sign up again using an email address on your company's domain. If your business does not yet have a custom domain email, you can set one up through your domain registrar, Google Workspace, or Microsoft 365.

If your business is a sole proprietorship and you do not have a company domain email, contact us at [email protected]. Our team reviews these situations on a case-by-case basis and can advise on next steps.
