KYC approval — how long does it take?

Written by Rajani

Before you begin — deposit requirement

Before you can start KYC, you need to hold at least $10 in USDC or USDT in your Kosh wallet. This is a one-time prerequisite that unlocks the KYC flow in the app. Card balance, Kosh Cash, and rewards do not count toward this threshold. Users in the UAE and Maldives are exempt from this requirement and can begin KYC immediately.

Once you complete your KYC, your account is typically approved within 1–2 business days, provided all documents are valid, clear, and complete.

What happens after you submit

After completing your KYC, your app will show KYC In Review. During this time we verify your documents and set up your account with our partners so all features are ready to use. You do not need to take any action during this time.

If our team needs anything additional from you, we will reach out via email.

If it's been more than 3 business days

What comes next — Enhanced KYC

After your basic KYC is approved, some users will receive a prompt in the app to complete Enhanced KYC. This is an additional verification step that may include profile details, work history, and social verification. Enhanced KYC is a hard gate for certain features — if prompted, you will need to complete it before those features become available. The in-app prompt will guide you through each step.

This timeline assumes all documents are valid and complete on first submission. If your documents require re-submission or if your KYC is rejected and restarted, the overall timeline will be longer. KYC timelines may also vary depending on document quality, jurisdiction, and regulatory requirements.
