Overview

To complete identity verification (KYC) as an individual, you will need to submit the following documents:

  • National ID — Primary proof of identity

  • Bank Statement — Must show at least one transaction, not older than 3 months, and the name must exactly match the National ID

  • Passport — Required in certain cases (e.g., cross-border transactions, non-residents)

  • Liveness Check — A real-time selfie to verify you match your ID photo

National ID

An official government-issued document that confirms your name, date of birth, and nationality.

Examples include:

  • National ID Card

  • Aadhaar (India)

  • NRIC (Singapore)

  • Emirates ID (UAE)

  • State ID or Social Security Card (US)

Bank Statement

A document that confirms your financial account and links your name to an address.

Requirements:

  • Must include at least one recent transaction

  • Must not be older than 3 months

  • Name must match your National ID exactly

You can obtain this directly from your bank.

Passport

An international travel document used as an alternative proof of identity.

Required when:

  • You are making cross-border transactions

  • You are a non-resident customer

  • Your National ID is insufficient or not accepted in your jurisdiction

Liveness Check

A biometric step that confirms the person submitting the documents is the same person on the ID. Kosh uses Sumsub to handle liveness verification — you will be guided through the process directly on the platform.

This includes:

  • A real-time selfie compared against your ID photo

  • Anti-spoofing and liveness detection technology

  • Video KYC or equivalent digital verification

Submission Requirements

  • Clarity — All documents must be clear, valid, and legible

  • Format — Submit as a scanned PDF or image file

  • Certification — Notarized or certified copies where required by your jurisdiction

⏱ How long does KYC take?

Once you submit your documents, KYC is typically reviewed within 1–2 business days. During this time your status will show as KYC In Review — this is normal and covers several internal checks running in the background. You will be notified by email once a decision is made.
